A Single Phase Reactor is an inductive electrical component designed for filtering and current control in single-phase AC power systems. It typically consists of a winding around an iron or air core and introduces inductive impedance into the circuit to limit rapid changes in current and reduce unwanted electrical disturbances.

With inductance values from 2 μH to 5 mH and current ratings from 10 A to 600 A, the reactor can be configured for different power and filtering requirements. Its robust magnetic structure makes it suitable for power conversion equipment, AC filtering circuits, and industrial electrical systems where stable current flow and reliable operation are required.

Working Principle

A Single Phase Reactor works by introducing inductive reactance into a single-phase AC circuit. When alternating current flows through the reactor winding, a magnetic field is generated around the core. The resulting inductive reactance opposes rapid changes in current, helping smooth the current waveform and reduce unwanted electrical disturbances in the power circuit.

The inductive reactance increases with frequency according to XL = 2πfL, where f represents frequency and L represents inductance. This frequency-dependent impedance allows the reactor to provide greater opposition to higher-frequency current components while maintaining the required power-frequency current flow.

Depending on the core structure, inductance, and rated current, the reactor can be designed to meet different AC filtering, current limiting, and power stability requirements.
