Working Principle

A Vertical Wound Reactor works by introducing inductive reactance into the input or output circuit of an inverter or power converter. When current flows through the winding, a magnetic field is generated around the magnetic core. The resulting inductive impedance opposes rapid changes in current and helps smooth the current waveform.

The reactor also presents greater impedance to higher-frequency current components, which helps attenuate switching-related harmonics and electrical disturbances. When installed on the input side, it can help limit current fluctuations and reduce harmonic currents; when used on the output side, it can help smooth inverter switching waveforms and reduce disturbances reaching connected equipment.

The vertical winding structure provides a mechanically robust construction and supports effective heat dissipation, making the reactor suitable for continuous operation in industrial power systems.
